Nice post, Shaunta. It made me meditate about my book. I’ve just rewritten a 150K-word manuscript to improve its narrative, and it became a 200K-word manuscript. I’m struggling to make it shorter even exercising with RUE. It’s a fantasy book that starts with five different arcs, and when I think about removing one arc, I pity to get rid of some scenes and characters. However, after writing the book, we need to think of it as a product, too, not only as a newborn son. I guess I need to let it go…
